The post Three Ways to Invest in Our Planet: Earth Day 2026 in Denver appeared first on The Residences at Fillmore Plaza Blog.

Earth Day is just around the corner, bringing extra awareness of how we can all get involved and invest in our planet. Hundreds of thousands of people will gather on Wednesday, April 22, to celebrate. There are many events and activities in Denver, including community clean-ups, educational workshops, and local fairs, but you can also do everyday things to help. Here are three ways to fight climate change every day.
Try a Climate-Friendly Diet
Did you know that you have a foodprint? It measures the impact of growing, producing, transporting, and storing our food. Our foodprint creates more than a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. Adopting a plant-based diet reduces the resources required to produce animal-based foods. If more people made this shift, it would use less water, conserve land for crops, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from food production.
Go Plogging
You’ve probably been running, walking, or hiking, but have you been plogging? It’s where you combine running, walking, or hiking with picking up trash. When you track your miles or kilometers, you can track how much waste you pick up. Picking up trash and litter along trails or roads will help keep it from entering our waterways and, eventually, the oceans. Learn more about plogging and a few people who have embraced it here. here.
Remove. Refuse. Rally to Cut Plastic
Plastic is one of the largest contributors to environmental pollution. We've heard about reducing, reusing, and recycling to help lessen plastic's impact. This year, focus on these three "R's" to cut plastic pollution: Remove, refuse, rally. Remove any plastic you see on the ground. Refuse plastic straws and cups by opting for reusable alternatives. Rally your community to reduce single-use plastics, such as bags and similar items.
Start your eco-friendly lifestyle today by joining Earth Day 2026 events throughout the Denver Metro Area. Start with the Annual Earth Day Cherry Creek Cleanup event or attend a local community picnic, all just minutes from The Residences at Fillmore Plaza.

Have you been enjoying this unusually warm winter? With temperatures staying in the 60s all through February, it’s a great time to get outside for some fresh air or exercise. At The Residences, you can walk around Cherry Creek North, or, if you want more open space, you’re in luck. Some of Denver’s best parks and open spaces are just minutes away.
Denver Parks Offer Plenty of Options
Denver has 2,500 acres of parks and parkways you can enjoy year-round. If we get some spring snow, try nordic skiing, snowshoeing, or sledding. When it’s warm, you can go for a jog, have a picnic, or play volleyball with friends. Some of the most popular parks are Washington Park (Wash Park), City Park, and Cheeseman Park.
Take an Adventure Out of the City
When you think about getting out of the city, you might picture a drive up I-70 to Summit County. But if you want to stay closer to home, there are plenty of open spaces and state parks nearby. On warm spring days, you can explore the trails at Cherry Creek State Park or Chatfield State Park. Golden Gate State Park, just outside Golden, is great for snowshoeing close to Denver. Red Rocks is another spot you might not consider unless you’re going to a concert, but it’s also a great place for exercise and amazing views. You can hike and explore the trails around the amphitheater.
We’ll see what March brings, since it’s usually our snowiest month. If you’re feeling ready for spring and want to get outside without going far, there are plenty of options just minutes from your door at The Residences at Fillmore Plaza.

Now that Christmas is over, it's time to start planning for the New Year! Have you thought about your New Year's Resolutions? If you make resolutions, do you keep them throughout the year, or are you, like most of us, who tend to forget about them after January? If you have trouble meeting your goals for the year, check out a few tips on achieving your 2025 resolutions.
TAKE IT ONE STEP AT A TIME
If you’ve made several goals, take them one at a time. If you try to accomplish all of them at once, you’ll risk getting overwhelmed and not completing any of them. Reaching smaller goals will keep you motivated to achieve your bigger objective.
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PROGRESS
Using a journal to keep track of your progress will help push you to keep your resolution throughout the year. Keep track of your successes and any setbacks to celebrate your wins and adjust when you have a setback. Also, reading your journal will remind you of why you’ve created this resolution.
FACE IT! SETBACKS HAPPEN!
You might hit a bump in the road along your journey. It’s okay! You’re human. If you have a minor setback, don’t get discouraged. Review your process and make adjustments. Small changes will help you keep going and can eliminate mistakes.
HAVE A BUDDY
Depending on your resolution, it might help to have a buddy. If you want to exercise more, have a friend or family member join in on your resolution. You’ll push each other and celebrate your wins together.
Whether you want to get in shape or read more books, use these ideas to help you achieve your 2025 New Year’s Resolution. If moving into luxury is one of your resolutions, check out the boutique living in the heart of Cherry Creek North at The Residences at Fillmore Plaza.

Hosting a Friendsgiving feast can come with a lot of pressure. There’s the stress of cooking, entertaining, making sure there’s plenty of space, and everyone remains on their best behavior. If you’re hosting this year’s big event in your luxury apartment at The Residences, here are a few tips to keep the event as stress-free as possible.
Ditch The Dining Table and Chairs
Open your space by placing your table against a wall and using it as a serving table. Add chairs around your couch so there’s a natural, comfortable place to visit. Have fun and be creative with your seating. Make it a Friendsgiving picnic. People can be more stressed when cramped.
Decorate Vertically
Use your vertical space wisely to make your home look festive. Use your walls and door frames for festive garlands and pictures. Decorate any overhead lighting with festive fall leaves.
Have a Potluck Friendsgiving
The biggest stress of hosting Thanksgiving is cooking the meal. In a luxury apartment, you might find yourself looking for space. Well, eliminate that stress and make your dinner a potluck. Have your friends and family bring something. Ensure the invite lets everyone know what others are getting so you don’t end up with one too many of the same sides. You can only eat so much stuffing, right? A potluck will save time, stress, and space.
Make Your Meal About the Sides
Rather than going through the effort of making a big Turkey, why not make your feasts all about the sides? Ask your friends and family to each contribute a side dish. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, and all of the other sides make a delicious meal. Having only sides saves room for dessert. With only sides, you won’t stress making the perfect bird.
Don’t stress your Friendsgiving feast. Take these steps to have a fun, stress-free Thanksgiving in your luxury apartment at The Residences at Fillmore Plaza.
